American automaker Fisker announced that it setting foot in India, and expanding to a second headquarters in Hyderabad, India. The Indian facility joins Fisker’s current HQ, engineering, and product development facilities in Southern California and will soon provide software and virtual vehicle development. After production of the limited Ocean One concludes, SoCal-based EV automaker Fisker Inc. will prioritize and manufacture all Ocean Extreme orders. Going forward, the company will allocate additional capacity to Ocean Ultra and Ocean Sport models.
In February 2022, Fisker opened reservations for its second EV, the Pear, starting at a revolutionizing MSRP below $30,000. Although the public has yet to get an actual glimpse of it, Fisker says it will be different from the Ocean. Now, Fisker is expanding to South Asia with an additional headquarters in India. A teaser image of the PEAR, one of two Fisker EVs that will finally be sold in India Car designer Henrik Fisker, founder of Fisker Inc., hinted on his social media that the design is complete and it is “the next big step in car design. ”
Fisker Inc. shared the news with Indians detailing that it has already started hiring for the new entity, Fisker Vigyan India Pvt Ltd that it launched in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana State. The new facility in India will work alongside the US HQ with a clear focus on software development and embedded electronics, virtual vehicle development support functions, data analytics, and machine learning.
Fisker Pear is inspiring a new generation of reasonable EVs due to Foxconn’s experience and connections on the software side and Fisker’s on the automotive side. They plan to reach a production of 250,000 units, with a start date eyed for late 2023. Both Fisker Ocean and Fisker Pear electric cars will enter the Indian market, although there is no confirmed timeline for market entry. Their expansion into EU markets is also scheduled to begin in 2022.
